Daniel Roberts

My name is Dan Roberts and I have been at GEMS Winchester School Dubai since August 2019. Having initially joined the school as Deputy Head of Secondary, I was subsequently appointed as Vice Principal (Whole school) ready for the start of the 2022-2023 academic year. With a Masters degree in Educational Research and a degree in Geography – both from the University of Cambridge – I have an overall experience of 15 years in teaching and leadership.

I am a true believer that ‘better never stops’ and I am driven by a constant quest to improve myself and the students and staff I am responsible for. In my current role, I am responsible for the strategic direction of teaching and learning across the school, which includes our process for monitoring, evaluation and review, as well as professional learning and development across the school. Over my career to date these have been two areas that I have been particularly passionate about and in recognition of this, I have been recently appointed a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching in the UK.

I am also proud to be line managing our Inclusion Department to ensure that a quality education is available to all of our learners – no matter what their special ability might be! Therefore, I look forward to seeing all of our students make excellent progress this year – we know if they arrive at school every day with the attitude that they will ‘Work Hard, Be Good’, then they will leave their time at GEMS Winchester School Dubai with the best qualifications they can achieve and perhaps even more importantly, as well-rounded citizens ready to become part of our global community.
