I am James Oakden and creating learning opportunities for students and staff is my driving force for being in school. Having worked as a computer programmer in industry and with 20 years’ experience in Education I enjoy learning through innovative ways whilst keeping the traditional learning skills at the heart of what I do.
I have worked in Dubai for the past 15 years and this is my 3rd GEMS school that I am proud to be part of. I am committed to driving excellent through high quality lessons, staff development and the knowledge of students’ performance as well as providing a safe, creative and inclusive environment for all. I have been a leader in all three school with a wide range of roles from curriculum to staff development.
As a leader in school, I enjoy meeting and teaching many of the students and to meeting parents, building positive relationships. Education works best when it is a partnership between students, parents and school. I look forward to meeting you throughout the year.
