Preyanka Sall
Head of Primary
Hi! I am Preyanka Sall but Preya for short!
My love of teaching started when I volunteered for a charity in Goa; working in the slums to teach English and Maths to the street children. Their excitement every time I arrived and their thirst for knowledge made me realise that I wanted to pursue a career whereby I made a difference in shaping the minds of the next generation.
I completed my education in the UK: my BA Hons from De Montfort University (2005) and my teacher training PGCE from London Metropolitan University (2008). Since then I have worked in inner London schools and have had the opportunity to lead on several new roles such as International Links Leader, Lead Practitioner, Head of Curriculum, Inclusion Lead and Senior Leadership Opportunities - thus, making it a decade in the field of education.
I have also been involved with several Ofsted inspections and most recently I was part of the team which took the school from ‘Satisfactory’ to ‘Outstanding’. As a result of this, I was also asked by the London Borough to support another London school that needed developing.
Education is about unlocking each child’s potential, making them believe in themselves and giving them the steps to success. I have always personally held dear to me: children should be at the centre of everything we do, so you will see many positive changes and with this, I hope you will join me on the journey to making WSD great!
