Hello, I am Susan McMechan, Head of Sixth Form, and I am delighted to be part of the WSD family.
Originally from the northwest of England, Dubai has been my home since 2016. An English specialist by trade, I taught and led English teams in two highly regarded independent UK schools before relocating with my family to the sunshine, enjoying leadership positions in two other Dubai schools before joining WSD in August 2024.
I am immensely proud of our Year 12 and 13 students who role model our school’s core values of tolerance, respect and responsibility. As WSD’s Sixth Form grows, we are committed to cultivating an inspiring and supportive environment. Focused on the holistic development of every student, through A Levels, BTEC, and tailored programmes, we offer exciting opportunities and different pathways to further education or vocational courses.
